Technical Development and IT

Volunteers with nationally or provincially recognized technical qualifications (i.e.: Red Seal certification or a degree, depending on skill area) are needed to share their skills with local people to help meet the demand for well-maintained roads, transport, homes, hospitals or schools. As a volunteer, you may find yourself working with traditional, low-cost and locally available materials using designs and techniques that make the most of existing skills.

VSO receives many requests for skilled IT professionals for placements that range from teaching computer science in a college to installing and maintaining new systems within government departments and non-governmental organizations. Placements are available for Computer Trainers, IT Lecturers, Systems Analysts / Programmers and Network Specialists. 6-month internships are also available to youth between the ages of 19-30 through the NetCorps Canada International program.

We receive requests for qualified and experienced professionals from a wide range of skill areas. If you don't see your area of expertise listed here, please contact us.
